Capital Funk is a hip hop dance crew that was established in 2004 at the George Washington University (GWU) in Washington, DC. The team performs primarily at GWU and in the DC, MD, and VA area. Capital Funk enjoyed its most productive year during the 2007-2008 academic year. Capital Funk won GWU's Student Performance Group of the Year Award. Capital Funk also competes at hip hop dance competitions and has won 3rd place at the 2005 Culture Shock East Coast Dance Competition and earned 1st place at the 2007 competition. This past April, Capital Funk won 2nd place at Prelude EC Dance Competition in New Jersey and first place at Howard University's hip hop dance competition. |
